Kettle Idea
drul: Make an electro kettle that would send a note to your tumblr, twitter, whatever that it just boiled. Adding to that a bit, it would be cool if you could remote boil your kettle with a mobile app / over the web and it would give you a countdown timer as to when it will be finished boiling.

concept for a comic series... →
oholiabski: A man is involved in an experiment to send him back in time to (for argument’s sake) the dark ages. However, as he passes through, the opening in space time begins to collapse. One of the enterprising young engineers on the other side has an idea - just before it closes completely, he manages to jam a piece of copper pipe through the remaining hole, keeping it open. Until they can...

Night Out App Idea →
benschel: Had this idea for an app a little while back, thought I would share it. I want to be able to share where I’m going to be with my friends. Foursquare is great for telling friends where i am now, but by the time my friends actually see it I’m most of the time already gone. I’m constantly texting friends on a Friday night asking them what their plans are and if they want to hang out. It...

Games & Records Store →
I don’t know why I haven’t thought of it before, but opening a store that would sell games and records sounds amazing. I think it’d be awesome to focus on the classics, like Zelda (a lot of Zelda), Mario, Sonic, etc… ut a lot of recent stuff too for games. None of the stupid generic FPS games. Well, at least a little, because that would be a stupid business move not to, at least at the start....

Plan for a new horror movie. →
ive-gone-mental: I starting a plan for a new horror movie. Picture this. The camera is following a guy from behind in the dark and rain. You hear a voice say from an alley, hey can you give me a light? The person the camera is following holds up a zippo to light the guys cig, but then pulls out a can of wd-40 and sprays it at the zippo, creating a flamethrower and facially disfiguring the guy....

prettygirlfromconcord: Where you type in your measurements/body type/etc, then type in your diet/workout goals (whether weight or inches or sizes whatever) and it shows you pictures of celebrities/models/beautiful people with similar body types to inspire you. Rants, quotes and truth.: The Great Partnership →
rantsquotesandtruth: This is yet another of my political ideas, but i think it could really do some good in the world. Above is a map, the countries in blue are the countries that should be members of this group. It may seem like a random selection but all these countries either enjoy or are striving for good relations and many are already in various unions with each other, such as NATO or...

The Footle
muddlethemind: Anyway, you know how sometimes you’re holding something in your hands and you have to open something like the fridge? Well there should be a pedal instead of a handle. It could be called a footle. Too bad footle is already a word. It means “to speak of foolishness”. I wonder if that means something …

Freezing alarm clock blanket
This is a normal blanket and is bascally the opposite to an electric blanket. It contains an alarm clock and when set to ‘go off’, the blanket drops significantly in temperature, encouraging you to get up. One of the major problems i face every day is getting up from a warm, cosy bed to a less warm room / house. If i knew my blanket would get cold, i’d quickly get up!

Airbag on stairs for safety
How many injuries or deaths do we have every year caused by people falling down stairs? I think stairs should be fitted with sensors to detect feet movement. An airbag should be fitted to the bottom step. If abnormal data is collected by the sensors in steps higher up the stairs, the airbag should be activated to help prevent major injury or death. A combination of weight, pressure and timing...

Tilting alarm clock bed
Your new bed has an alarm clock built in to it. Once it goes off, the bed gradually tilts to a full 180 degree angle (vertically), forcing you to stand up on your feet and get out of bed – ensuring you don’t sleep in. Not so good if you have someone in the bed with you of course who don’t want/need to get up :)

Light sensitive windscreen
I’d like to see a new type of glass made. Glass made in such a way that it contains material or liquid that could darken or lighten in appearance without compromising the actual view through the glass. It could then be added to cars to reduce safety. In direct sunlight, the glass could auto-dim… at night or with no direct sunlight, the glass could then go back to ‘normal’. If it’s not physically...

Passenger jet ejection system
Earlier in the year a passenger plane landed on the hudson river… then an air france plane crashed in the atlantic. Passenger planes should be able to detect when they’re nearing water and automatically ‘eject’ either the passengers or part of the airplane to improve chances of survival. Planes will typically break up when they hit water and if they don’t, chances of survival are low – a bit like...

Epaper from the classroom
Within the next 5 years all school kids should be able to have all their textbooks stored on a small mini computer with an epaper screen, this could be very lightweignt, less than 1kg and could be eventually updated so notes could be taken and stored. There could also be wireless feed from the teacher so there’s a fully interactive lesson.

remote activated car temperature settings
On cold frosty mornings, i’ve always thought it would be cool if i could press a button and my car would start up, heat would be turned up full blast and windows would clear / defrost themselves. It would mean i wouldn’t have to leave the house and when i do, the car would be warm when i get in and ready to be driven. Likewise, if i’ve got black leather seats, it would be handy in summer to remote...

Traffic light countdown to red
I for one am sick of these bloody ‘amber light’ scenarios where you’re cuaght going through the lights just as they’re turning amber. Depending on the junction, this can mean the lights are red by the time you make a turn – but because you’re past the white line, you’d block a yellow box if you were to stop. Why don’t we have a ‘countdown to red’ timer shown beside the lights? Some pedestrian...

Online Will
Plenty of webmasters own more than one site… they also have plenty of accounts (email, social networks, servers etc..). If they die, what happens to those accounts and sites? Most webmasters are young (internet only really being around the past 10-15 years) so the need for an online ‘will’ service will be great in years to come. Passwords, accounts, sites etc… can then be passed on to loved ones...

Kinetic energy from keyboards
According to my keyboard’s character count, i’ve pressed 5 million buttons in the past year alone. I know clicking on one button isn’t going to power anything… but 5m buttons? That’s a lot of kinetic energy going to waste and i’d imagine if each key was hooked up to some sort of generator within the keyboard, the energy produced would be enough to power the keyboard itself – without needing an...

I Dare You
This is a site which offers people the chance to make money. It displays a list of dares people have thought up of.. (e.g i dare you to run around a cinema naked). People then chip in money to the dare kitty and whoever takes on the dare gets the cash. Someone can reserve that bet and has 24 hours to complete it. They must then submit a video of themselves doing the bet and they will then get the...

Off with your head
This site displays a list of famous people. Users get to chop someones head off once a day (every 24 hours). This is basically if a celebrity does something stupid or a football manager is no good, just after suffering a heavy defeat etc… The users get to decide whos head is put on the chopping board each day. All chopped heads are the kept in the ‘already chopped’ section.

Net Never Forgets
This site keeps a list of all known deaths i.e. people who had facebook profile or blogs and passed away. A short profile of the person is displayed and it acts as a place for people to come and pay their respects by comments or video message etc… the idea being that their memory will always live on on the internet.

Super Teddy
I buy a teddy, then post him to someone in a different country. That person then posts the teddy to another person in another country and so on.. all the time, the teddy is pictured at famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, Statue of Liberty etc.. and the pictures and blog entries from owners are put up on his website. He then becomes the most famous teddy on the world..
